I went in Saturday and was amazed at what I saw. It was amazing. He was in a recliner and was awake and everything. I just wasn't expecting it. See, my Nana's there every day and doesn't see how much he's improving. I mean I only see him on the weekends and I can really see the difference. There wasn't much on Sunday. We kind of wore him out. But he's doing really good.

Poppa being alive is a miracle. We were told by the neurosurgeon he would not recover. His recovery is a miracle as well. I am getting ready to leave to go upstate now. I am looking forward to talking with him.
We give thanks as we approach this season of Thanksgiving. We are thankful to God for His Indescribable Gift Christ Jesus. We are so thankful for all the other good and perfect gifts that come down from our Father in heaven, His healing touch being one of them.
His sustaining grace is another gift. I remember a Thanksgiving 10 years ago when Uncle Mark was very sick with a brain tumor. Poppa suggested we all get together for that one as it might be the last one we were all together for. He was right. God took Uncle Mark to heaven. But He sent us comfort in so many ways. We are now all looking forward to that Great Thanksgiving called the Marriage Supper of the Lamb in heaven. While we wait we will continue to celebrate His goodness!

Kirstin - wow, I check your blog every few days for progress - what a blessing to see what you wrote yesterday!! God just never ceases to blow me away with His kindness and goodness. What great news! I've been away from this whole scenario for close to three weeks now due to our move and it is awesome to see how God's hand has been upon your husband/father. I have not stopped praying for complete healing. Regardless of where he finally finds himself physically, it is truely a miracle to think that he has come through this tough stuff. We praise the Lord in FL!

Hello All! Kirstin - I am going to update for you... I am here visiting and I know you'll be here tomorrow...
Yesterday and last night Papa AWESOME! He was talking to us - mostly in the late afternoon and evening. He was laughing at Emma and really happy. Then we called Tina to sing Happy Birthday and he sang the WHOLE SONG with us! It was so cool...!
I'll kiss him for you and you give him love from me on Sunday!

Hi Everyone!
I'm here at Tonya and James' this morning on my way back to the Island. I'll watch Emma play soccer in a bit then jump on the train and head home. Since arriving Tuesday afternoon (Thanks Doralyn and Bill for the ride from the bus station and Marie for getting Mom and I up the hill) Poppa made progress each day.
Yesterday we wheeled him into the dining room in a hospital chair. Ann, the speech therapist fed him some Italian Ice. On Tina's birthday (November 1st) we called Tina from the rehab and sang Hapy Birthday to her. Poppa joined in with his rich baritone voice and sang right along with us! It brought tears to eyes and joy to the heart!
Emma is quite a kid. Last night she took over for Angela, the occupational therapist, and was counting as my Dad squeezed ballons in his hands.
We are thankful for all your prayers and love, e-mails, phone calls and cards. What a blessing to share the journey to heaven with each of you!!!
